  • Price – The agreed purchase cost of the private guided walk.
  • Guided Walk/Walk – The identified guided walk and guide we will provide.
  • Terms – These Terms & Conditions, as updated from time to time.

  • You/Your/Participant – the consumer making the booking and/or their representative, including but not limited to travel agents.

Bookings: Bookings can be made by phone, on our website (www.edinburghwalks.com) or via e-mail. Any amendments must be requested by you and agreed to by us. We retain the right to amend or reject a booking. Bookings agreed in writing or verbally by us, including cost and meeting point, will be treated as being confirmed. On confirmation by us, the date, time and approximate length and/or end time will be specified. A deposit is not normally required, but prompt cancellation by you is requested if so required (see Cancellation Policy). We limit our private groups to eight participants plus guide and you must inform us if a number greater than eight is expected to allow us to assess if a second guide is required, with additional costs possible.

Payment: Payment is made in cash, by card or by other agreed arrangement in advance or on the day of the walk.

Late arrivals & delays: We will wait for 20 minutes at the designated meeting place from the scheduled start time. Any time lost due to the late arrival of your group may be deducted from the tour duration. We will not be held responsible for diversions or delays  that are outwith our control.

Safety and clothing: Participants should ensure they are adequately insured. Be aware that the private guided walk may involve uneven terrain including, but not limited to steps/stairs, slopes and cobblestones. You are responsible for ensuring you possess a suitable level of physical fitness and are wearing suitable footwear. We operate in all weathers. You are expected to wear appropriate weatherproof clothing suitable for Scottish outdoor conditions.

Statutory Rights: Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

General Liability: Subject to statutory rights, we accept no liability for personal injury, illness, property damage or theft sustained during the guided walk, nor delays caused by public transport or third-party closures.

Cancellation Policy: We retain the right to use our own discretion to cancel a booking within 24 hours of the walk.  Outwith this time cancellations can be agreed and/or rescheduled.  Adverse weather or any other circumstance may not lead to cancellation and only on notification from Edinburgh Walks should you understand a walk is not taking place.

Your conduct: We expect you will adhere to instructions given by the guide at all times and we will not accept displays or actions that are deemed unsafe or abusive.

Language:  All private guided walks will be guided by an English speaking guide.

Price & Currency: Payments are made in Pounds Sterling. The cost of the private guided walk is for your whole group, not per person and does not include entrance fees, transport costs, refreshments, gratuities or any similar costs.

Jurisdiction & Governing Law: These terms and conditions and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Scots Law. The parties irrevocably agree that courts in Scotland shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim.
